posts mentioned below;

 

1.0 TEA BOARD OF TANZANIA (TBT)

Tea Board of Tanzania (TBT) is a Regulatory Board established under section 3 of the

Tea Act of 1997. TBT has a legal mandate to regulate and supervise the Tea Industry

in Tanzania.

 

  • DIRECTOR OF REGULATORY SERVISES

 

1.1.2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. As Head of the Department of Regulatory services, Director is responsible for

providing fair, efficient and effective regulatory services to the Tea Industry.

  1. Chief advisor to the Director General in all licensing, inspection and quality

matters in the Tea Industry.

iii. Responsible for issuing quality standards for the Tea Industry.

  1. Overall responsibility for administrative matters relating to staff in the

department such as staff discipline, availability of adequate operational

resource staff, performance appraisal/evaluation leave scheduling and training.

  1. Establishing guidelines for implanting and supervising the implementation

within the department management policies, decisions and directive.

  1. Formulating and recommending to the Director General on licensing,

inspection and quality control policies, strategies, plans and procedures for the

Tea Industry.

vii. Ensuring that only tea of required standard is loaded and exported.

viii. Issuing quality standards to the tea blending and packaging factories.

  1. Ensuring that tea packers and tea blenders use only quality packing materials.
  2. Overseeing documentation of all matters concerning tea export.
  3. Issuing export/import licences to authorised tea exporters/importers as per the

Tea Act No. 3 of 1997 and its subsequent amendments.

xii. Monitoring the implementation of action plans/work programmes by officers in

the department.

xiii. Providing overall leadership/guidance to the section staff.

xiv. Initiating or approving requisitions for procurements under the department’s

budget

 

1.1.3 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Master’s Degree either in Agriculture or Food Processing or Process Engineering or

Business Administration from a recognised institution. Demonstrated knowledge of both

local and global tea industries.

Must have 11 years working experience of which 5 years in managerial level at reputable

organisation. He or she must have outstanding knowledge of both local and international

Tea industry.

 

1.1.4 OTHER ATTRIBUTES:

In addition to the qualification specified above applicants are expected to possess the

following:

– Capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

– Excellent interpersonal and communication skill.

1.1.5 REMUNERATION:

Attractive salary will be offered according to Tanzania Tea Board Salary Scale.

1.1.6 AGE LIMIT:

2.0 EASTERN AFRICA STATISTICAL TRAINING CENTRE (EASTEC)

The Eastern Africa Statistical Training Centre is a higher learning Institution that was

established in 1965 to train staff of the National Statistical Offices in eighteen Eastern and

Southern African Countries. EASTC was established by Act no. 28 of 1994 enacted by the

Parliament of the United Republic of Tanzania as Regional Institution based in Tanzania,

with mandate to improve the capabilities of the United Republic of Tanzania and other

user member States to produce the statistical data necessary for the assessment,

planning and development of the people and development of the people and the

economics of those states through training of personnel engaged in the production of

statistical data. Without prejudice of its mandatory as given by Act no, 28 of 1994, the

Executive Agency act no 30 of 1997, and framework document signed by Minister of

planning and Economic Affairs, enabled the Centre to be Launched as Executive Agency

on May 2002 as semi autonomy Centre in administration of its core functions.

 

2.1 LECTURER – (1 POST)

2.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. To teach NTA level 8 for Master’s degree holders and up to NTA level 9 for PhD

holders;

  1. To guide and supervise students in building up their practical and research

projects; Eastern Africa Statistical Training Centre;

iii. To prepare learning resources and design training exercise for students;

  1. To conduct consultancy and community services;
  2. To develop and review existing curriculum;
  3. To undertake individual research and participates in;

vii. To prepare teaching manuals, simulations and case studies for training and

viii. To coach junior teaching staff.

2.1.2 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Doctorate (PhD) Degree either in Information and Communication Technology or

Computer Science from a recognized institution with a GPA of 3.5 or above in his/her

Bachelor Degree

 

2.1.3 REQUIRED SKILLS

  1. Experience in general programming, analyzing information, problem solving,

software algorithm design, software performance tuning and optimization,

software design, software debugging, software development fundamentals,

software documentation and software testing.

  1. Knowledge and familiarity with hardware, software, and firmware

iii. Knowledge and skills on computer system development life cycle.

  1. Experience on object oriented programming such as programming in C,

Assembler, PHP frameworks (yii2, Code igniter, etc.).

  1. Digital and analog design experience. Facility with Network Analyzers,

Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, and Logic analyzer, with good lab bench

and debugging skills

  1. Experience on oracle and MySQL databases with their related technological

concepts/components.

vii. Ability to develop, demonstrate and implement software test cases in different

environment.

viii. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  1. Demonstrated ability to work well within a team environment, show initiative,

accept responsibility, apply technical skills, and communicate effectively with

various levels within the organization.

2.2 ASSISTANT LECTURER IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (1 POST)

2.2.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

2.2.2 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Master’s Degree in Information Technology from a recognized Institution with a GPA of

3.5 or above in his/her Bachelor Degree

 

2.3 ASSISTANT LECTURER IN COMMUNICATION SKILLS(1 POST)

2.3.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. To teach up to NTA level 8 (Bachelor Degree)
  2. To prepare learning resources for tutorial exercises

iii. To conduct research, seminars and case studies;

  1. To carry out consultancy and community services under supervision
  2. To supervise student’s project and

2.3.2 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Master’s Degree either in communication skills or linguistics from a recognized

Institution with a GPA of 3.5 or above in his/her Bachelor Degree

2.4 TUTORIAL ASSISTANT (2 POSTS)

2.4.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. To teach up to NTA level 6 (ordinary Diploma)
  2. To assist in conducting tutorial and practical exercises for students under close

supervision;

iii. To prepare learning resources for tutorial exercises

  1. To assist in conducting research under close supervision and
  2. To carry out consultancy and community services under close supervision.
  3. To support and prepare standards for hardware, software, development

methods and security measures;

vii. To monitor and maintains database;

viii. To update and website design;

  1. To manage server;
  2. To manage troubleshooting hardware/software problems;
  3. To maintain security of computer operating system and software;

xii. To install of operating system and application software and

xiii. To prepare in house computer training for users on mostly used software.

2.4.2 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor Degree/Advanced Diploma either in Computer Science or Information

Technology or related computer studies from a recognized institution and a GPA of 3.5 or

above.

2.4.3 REQUIRED SKILLS

  1. Advanced knowledge of front end software development scripting, languages

and frameworks such HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Foundation, Bootstrap,

Bulma, Semantic, Query and Ajax.

  1. Practical skills on Object Oriented Programming (OOP) such as JAVA and C++

iii. Working knowledge of various programming languages (Including PHP).

  1. Advanced knowledge on the use of software development framework such

Spring, YII and Code igniter

  1. Practical knowledge on Relational database design such as MariaDb, MySQL

and Oracle

  1. Practical knowledge on qualitative data analysis tools such as nvivo and

ATLAS. ti

vii. Practical knowledge on quantitative data analysis tools such as R framework,

viii. Sound knowledge in Windows and Linux (Ubuntu) operating systems.

2.5 LIBRARIAN II (1 POST)

2.5.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. To prepare work plan for the section;
  2. To assist customers on bibliographic search;

iii. To assist customers on the use of ICT in library services;

  1. To administer cataloging and computerization of the library service;
  2. To identify and recommend materials/books to be ordered and
  3. To assist Bibliography searches.

2.5.2 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor Degree in Library and Information Studies or equivalent qualifications from a

recognized institution.

3.0 UNIT TRUST OF TANZANIA (UTT)

UTT was established under the Trustee Incorporation Act, Cap 318 and was vested with

the several key activities including the development of collective investment schemes;

acquiring and keeping in trust the shares of privatized enterprises and encouraging

savings culture through wide participation in the ownership of distributed shares / units.

UTT was very successful in launching unit trust schemes since five collective investment

schemes were launched attracting over 90,000 investors from all over the country.

 

3.1 INVESTMENT OFFICER II (2 POSTS)

3.1.1 REPORTS TO PRINCIPAL INVESTMENT OFFICER

3.1.2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assist in Monitoring financial markets and appraise superiors where and when

to maximize investment returns;

  1. Assist in ensuring accomplishment of tasks and activities as budgeted;

iii. Provide input for preparation of periodical reports on trends in financial

markets;

  1. Assist to perform day to day investment activities in line with investment

policies of the company;

  1. Keep track of Company research and investment records and documents;
  2. Conduct any other related duties as may be assigned by superiors.

3.1.3 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor Degree either in Finance Management or Business Administration or Economics

or Statistics and Commerce or related fields from a recognized University/Institution.

Knowledge on fund management business will be an added advantage.

A Minimum of two years working experience in Investment, Accounting, Banking and

Financial Matters or related field is required.

 

3.2 FUND ACCOUNTING OFFICER II (1 POST)

3.2.1 REPORTS TO PRINCIPAL FUND ACCOUNTING OFFICER

3.2.2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Recording expenses including accrued and prepaid expenses and ensure

proper treatment in financial records;

  1. Accounting for withdrawal and investment into the funds and carrying out

periodic reconciliations with records of registers to ensure correct pricing of the

funds;

iii. Processing accounting information in the accounting software and generating

periodic accounting reports;

  1. Performing reconciliation of bank balances with book balances at month end

dates;

  1. Carrying out day to day activities related to accounting;
  2. Carrying out custodianship of all accounting records and correspondences

pertaining to the unit assigned;

vii. Maintaining proper filing system;

viii. Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the

superiors.

3.2.3 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor degree in Accounting or equivalent Qualifications or related fields from a

recognized University/Institution. Knowledge on fund management business will be an

added advantage.

A Minimum of two years working experience in Investment, Accounting, Banking and

Financial Matters or related field is required.

 

3.3 FINANCE OFFICER II (1 POST)

3.3.1 REPORTS TO PRINCIPAL FINANCE OFFICER

3.3.2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Maintaining accounting books pertaining to revenue and expenditure;
  2. Maintaining ledgers and ensuring that entries are accurate and up-to-date;

iii. Keeping custody all accounting documents pertaining to revenue and

expenditure;

  1. Posting daily financial transactions and banking daily transactions;
  2. Ensuring that procedures regarding revenue and expenditure accounting are

strictly followed;

  1. Preparing estimates, monitoring trends, and appraising the supervisor

accordingly;

vii. Preparing cash flow projections, bank reconciliation, and posting of all

accounting transactions;

viii. Assisting in the preparation of financial statements, and facilitating the audit of

revenue transactions;

  1. Assisting in preparation of periodic reports on the status of revenue trends;
  2. Performing such other related duties as may be assigned by superiors from

time to time.

3.3.3 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor Degree in Finance Accounting or equivalent qualifications from a recognized

University/Institution. Knowledge on fund management business will be an added

advantage.

A Minimum of two years working experience in Investment, Accounting, Banking and

Financial Matters or related field is required.

 

3.4 SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR II (1 POST)

3.4.1 REPORTS TO PRINCIPAL SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

3.4.2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. To assist in developing, implementing and maintaining of computer systems

with proper documentation and training;

  1. To assist in analysis, design, development and maintenance of software

packages or application systems;

iii. To administer computer systems by ensuring that all the time the systems are

properly functioning and help users to understand their operations;

  1. To develop, adopt and support user-friendly interfaces to computer systems;
  2. To assist in website administration;
  3. To create customized reports in various formats including those for web

deployment;

vii. To appraise business systems performance and give recommendations;

viii. To ensure business systems are backed-up, tested and contingency measures

are up to date and functioning in accordance with IT policy of the company;

  1. Perform any other duties assigned by superiors.

3.4.3 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor degree either in Information Technology or Computer Science or Computer

Engineering or equivalent qualifications from a recognized University/Institution.

Knowledge on fund management business will be an added advantage.

A Minimum of two years working experience and Knowledge in SQL Server and Oracle

Database Management Systems, Application Server such as Web Sphere or Web Logic,

Working in Unix/Linux environment, or related field is required.

 

3.5 MARKETING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER II (1POST)

3.5.1 REPORTS TO: PRINCIPAL MARKETING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER

3.5.2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Arranges and schedules public events such as press release and AGMs;
  2. Ensures that the company participates in various exhibitions for the purpose of

improving public awareness on products of the company;

iii. Plans and conducts awareness programs and activities on products;

  1. Records and reports public criticism and complaint to the management;
  2. Educates and sensitizes the public on company’s objectives and its products;
  3. Coordinates publication in the media, produces annual publications and other

publications that promote the image the company;

vii. Takes video or photographs during company strategic Events;

viii. Coordinates all press conferences and

  1. Performs any other duties assigned by Superiors.

3.5.3 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor degree either in Marketing or Mass Communications or International Relations

or Public Relations or Business Administration or equivalent qualifications from a

recognized University/Institution. Knowledge on fund management business will be an

added advantage.

A Minimum of two years working experience and knowledge in sales of Financial Markets

and Banking products or related field is required.

 

3.6 OPERATIONS OFFICER II (2 POSTS)

3.6.1 REPORTS TO PRINCIPAL OPERATIONS OFFICER

3.6.2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Receives investor requests coming directly from investors;
  2. Arranges daily pick-up of forms from Banks, Brokers, or any other source and

issues acknowledgement;

iii. Ensures that mails are collected from Postal office at least three times a week;

  1. Affixes investor requests with company date stamp;
  2. Keeps proper record of investor requests received;
  3. Distributes investor requests, after obtaining acknowledgement, to other

offices and liaises with service units to ensure resolution of investor

complaints;

vii. Performs such other related duties as may be assigned by superiors from time

to time.

3.6.3 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor degree either in Finance Management or Commerce or Economics or

Accountancy or equivalent qualifications from a recognized University/Institution.

Knowledge on fund management business will be an added advantage.

A Minimum of two years working experience and knowledge in Investment, Operations of

the Registration and Transfer (R&T) Services, Banking and Financial Matters or related

field is required.

 

3.7 HUMAN RESOURCES AND ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER II (1 POST)

3.7.1 REPORTS TO PRINCIPAL HUMAN RESOURCES & ADMINISTRATIVE

OFFICER

3.7.2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. To assist in handling disciplinary matters for junior staff;
  2. To collect, analyze and keep employment records;

iii. To assist in attending staff matters regarding recruitments, confirmations,

promotions and internal transfers;

  1. To assist in the preparation of performance reports and compile and update

personal particulars for employees;

  1. To coordinate orientation and induction programs;
  2. To process staff welfare issues, for example, processing annual leave, loans ,

salaries and other claims;

vii. To assist in interpretation of the scheme of service, staff regulation and various

Acts related to employees;

viii. To assist in conducting research, analyses and estimates the number of

employees requiring training;

  1. To assist in monitoring of daily staff attendance and recommend solutions to

resolve any issues;

  1. To assist in maintaining regular servicing of office equipment in liaison with

procurement unit;

3.7.3 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma either in Public Administration or Management or

Sociology or Manpower Planning or Human Resource Management from a recognized

University/Institution. Knowledge on fund management business will be an added

advantage.

A Minimum of two years working experience in Human Resource Management,

Administration Matters or related field is required.

 

3.8 SENIOR PROCUREMENT AND SUPPLIES ASSISTANT II (1 POST)

3.8.1 REPORTS TO HEAD OF PROCUREMENT MANAGEMENT UNIT

3.8.2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. To coordinate daily logistics and stock control activities;
  2. To take charge as a custodian of the store of the company;

iii. To monitor and verify the keeping and updating of stores records and ledgers;

  1. To prepare stores reports of physical and card balances;
  2. To undertake stock review and report stock levels;
  3. To cross check and verify goods received notes and invoices;

vii. To coordinate the maintenance and updating of stock bin card and stores loan

records;

viii. To keep stores in proper bins, racks or locations;

  1. To check transactions in stores accounting documents and registers;
  2. To participate in preparing purchase requisitions/orders upon approval;
  3. To perform such other related duties as may be assigned by the superiors

from time to time.

3.8.3 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Diploma in procurement and logistics management or related fields from a recognized

University/Institution. Knowledge on fund management business will be an added

advantage.

A Minimum of two years working experience in procurement and logistics management,

Investment, Banking and Financial Matters or related field is required.

4.0 ARDHI UNIVERSITY

Ardhi University (ARU) is a public university in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. It was

established 28 March 2007, though it has been offering training for more than 60 years in

different status. It is situated on Observation Hill close to University of Dar es Salaam, in

which it was a constituent college from 1996-2007, when it was known as University

College of Lands and Architectural Studies—UCLAS. Prior being part of University of Dar

es Salaam, Ardhi University was known as Ardhi Institute with history extending to mid-

1950s

 

4.1 ESTATE OFFICER II (1 POST)

4.1.1 DUTY STATION FOR ALL ADVERTISED POSTS is Dar es salaam.

4.1.2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Supervises maintenance, cleaning and sanitation of University built and un-built

environment of grounds and drainage systems.

  1. Participates in drawing-up short and long term programmes for the general

improvement of the landscaping of the University built and un-built environment.

iii. Keeps and maintains relevant equipment in good working order.

  1. Assists in preparing work schedules.
  2. Performs any other related duties as may be assigned by one’s reporting officer.

4.1.3 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor Degree/Advanced Diploma either in Land Management and Valuation or

Environmental Engineering or Architecture or Building Economics or Civil Engineering, or

related field with working experience of at least three years in a similar position plus ICT skills.

5.0 DAR ES SALAAM MARITIME INSTITUTE (DMI)

Dar es Salaam Maritime Institute (DMI) was established by Act of Parliament No. 22 of

1991 to cater for greater needs of Shipping Industry in the region. The Institute (DMI)

originated from what was known as Dar es Salaam Maritime Training Unit (DMTU) which

was established on the 3rd July 1978 as a training wing of Tanzania Coastal Shipping

Line (TACOSHILI) to fulfill the need of well-trained seafarers. DMI is the Centre of

Excellence in Maritime Education and Training in the East African region. The Centre has

qualified personnel and provides quality education which suits market needs in the aspect

of being employed and self-employment in maritime industry. DMI offers programmes

accredited by NACTE (NTA Level 4-8), SUMATRA (Certificate of Competency-CoC), CILT

(Logistics & Transport) and ABMA (Shipping and Logistics).

 

5.1.1 LECTURER – (1 POST).

5.1.2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. To teach up to NTA level 8 for Master’s Degree holders and up to NTA level 9

for PhD holders.

congregations.

  3. To works on consultancy projects and guides junior staff in undertaking

consultancy assignments.

viii. To prepare teaching manuals, simulations and case studies for training.

  1. To coach/mentor junior teaching staff.
  2. To perform any other duties that may be assigned by the relevant Head of

Department.

5.1.3 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

PhD either in Procurement and Logistics or Naval Architecture or Shipping or Transport

Economics.

Holder of Chief Mate/ Second Engineer Certificate of Competence or a Master’s Degree in

Procurement and Logistics or Naval Architecture, Shipping or Transport Economics,

Business Administration and Management and three years teaching experience as

Assistant Lecturer plus two peer reviewed publications.

7.0 MUHIMBILI UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH AND ALLIED SCIENCES

The Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) started as the Dar es

Salaam Medical School in 1963. The school then transformed into the Faculty of Medicine

of the University of Dar es salaam that in 1991 was upgraded and became a college–the

Muhimbili University College of Health Sciences (MUCHS). In 1996, the Faculty of

Medicine that was upgraded to a constituent College of the University of Dar es Salaam,

with the aim of nurturing it to a full-fledged university later on was merged with the

Muhimbili hospital to create the Muhimbili Medical Centre (MMC).

Over the years MUCHS made significant achievements in terms of increased student

enrollment and development of several new academic programmes. The Parliament Act

No. 9 of 1991 that established MUCHS was repealed in 2005 through the universities Act

No. 7 of 2005. Subsequently, in 2007 Article 1 of the Charter of Incorporation established

MUHAS in line with the Universities Act No 7 of 2005.

The objectives of the University are the advancement of knowledge, diffusion and

extension of technology and learning, the provision of higher education and research and,

so far as is consistent with those objectives, the nurturing of the intellectual, aesthetic,

social and moral growth of the students at the University. MUHAS has two campuses;

Muhimbili Campus and Mloganzila Campus.

16 LAW SCHOOL OF TANZANIA

The Law School of Tanzania (LST) was established by the Act of Parliament No. 5 of

2007 (now Cap. 425) for providing practical legal training for law graduates aspiring to

become legal practitioners in the country.

 

16.1 ASSISTANT LECTURER – LAW (1 POST)

16.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

  1. Teaching up to NTA level 8 (Bachelor’s Degree);
  2. Prepare learning resources for tutorial exercises;

iii. Conduct research, seminars and case studies;

  1. Carries out consultancy and community services under close supervision;
  2. Supervise students’ seminars, research and field projects;
  3. Prepare and manage students seminar tasks;

vii. Prepare training manuals and related training materials; and

viii. Performs any other duties and responsibilities assigned by Head Practical Legal

Training.

16.1.2 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

 Master’s Degree in Laws (LL.M) who is eligible for registration as technical teacher

with the GPA of 3.5 and above. Should be registered as an Advocate of the High

Court of Tanzania with active practicing experience of not less than 5 years;

 Should have experience and /or ability to provide instructions in academic and

professional programs;

 Should be able to relate to students and other members of staff including problem

management skills; and

 Should have proven ability to implement practical training programs;

16.1.3 REMUNERATION:
